Since October 2024, Ph.D. candidate in Philosophy, Art, and Social Thought at The European Graduate School. I hold an M.A. in Art History and Archaeology with High Honors, specializing in Museums and Conservation of Movable Heritage, from Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) in Brussels, Belgium. Additionally, I have an M.A. in Latin American Studies from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, and a B.A. in Journalism and Media Studies from ITESM in Monterrey, Mexico.
With over ten years of experience in cultural diplomacy, curatorial projects, and the development of cultural programs for diverse audiences, I have cultivated an in-depth knowledge of contemporary art and art history. My expertise in promoting cultural heritage is complemented by my engagement with contemporary debates on art, transnationality, the legacy of colonialism, and identity and memory; these perspectives have been enriched by my experiences living in Monterrey, Rio de Janeiro, Washington, DC, Milan, Venice, and Brussels.
I have organized several exhibitions for galleries, museums, and public spaces in the United States, Italy, France, and Belgium, establishing myself as a strong operations professional within cultural institutions. Furthermore, I have refined my skills in translation and editorial work over the past decade, contributing to the production, research, writing, and editing of exhibition catalogues, reports, reviews, essays, and articles on various interdisciplinary artistic events. I am also involved in writing several books, including a fiction novel.
As an experienced curator, museum educator, writer, editor, translator, press & communications officer and artistic advisor, I possess a demonstrated history of working in the rich field of cultural institutions. I have a passion for telling stories grounded in research and analysis to leverage cultural diversity within a multicultural environment. As a board member of ICOM Belgium, I firmly believe in museums as catalysts for debate and instruments for meaningful change in human societies, a power that art criticism also holds.
